Our names are Kevin & Kristi and we have lived in rural Maine all our lives. We live on a farm and have 3 adult children. We have two dogs, a springer spaniel named Moxie, and a black lab named MacKenzie.

We own a business which has a mud season which we call "Spring Break", which lasts 6-8 weeks in March and April. Kevin works in the field and I work in the office. One spring he was on "Spring Break", which means he doesn't have to get up and go to work but I did. After a few days of him interrupting me and me falling behind in my work, I told him he needed to go and tap some trees, thus the beginning of "Spring Break Maple".

In 2001 Kevin decided he wanted to become a beekeeper so he found a man who would help him get started. This all happened in July so we only had one hive as the season was half over. Kevin fell in love with beekeeping thus the beginning of Spring Break Maple & "HONEY".

We have now turned these two hobbies into a business. We are currently working our way to 3500 taps and currently operate 25 bee hives with more coming soon. We produce extracted raw & processed honey, and some years we have comb honey as well. Our products can be found in local stores throughout Aroostook County, Maine and now in many stores throughout western and southern Maine as well and through our secure online store.

We hold open houses the last weekend in March and first weekend in April, so drop in and see maple sap turn into maple syrup and go home with your own personal container of our fresh MAINE MAPLE SYRUP. We also have an open house in July to celebrate Maine Open Farm Day. Our visitors get to see a slide show on beekeeping, an observation hive as well as lots of equipment used and sample fresh honey in the comb.

We are busy working and growing our businesses, but we always have time to share our "hobbies gone wild" with our customers. Our sugarhouse is open June thru December, Thursday - Saturday, so if you are in the area please stop in to see what is new and exciting at SPRING BREAK MAPLE & HONEY. We also invite you into our online storefront and make sure you look at the photo gallery and recipes.
